I was born in Texas, but as an Army Brat, lived in Kansas and Virginia before being stationed in Germany for 4 years. After this we settled in Maryland, where I have lived ever since. My love of Pop Culture came from being exposed to many different things by living overseas and in different states from techno (yes, many of the stereotypes are true such as technology and love of Baywatch/David Hasslehoff) to top 40, rap, rock, and some classical (former band geek, here). I'm pretty open to anything as long as it has great lyrics/or is really catchy/it resonates.
I'm a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a double degree (cause crying into one isn''t enough!) in Psychology and Spanish Language and Literature. I'm currently getting my M.S. in Administration of Human Services, My dream is to get my PhD in Clinical Psychology and work with therapy dogs/veterans with PTSD.
That's me and one of my favorite authors, Mr. George R.R. Martin, who I met at CapClave. I was such a fangirl to him but he was super nice to me and shook my hand when we meet and said goodbye! Such a great experience to meet new people and experience a convention for the first time.
I seriously love everything about popular culture from movies, to books, tv and anything in between. I've watched all of the "I Love the..Series (70s, 80s, 90s, New Millennium)" (so I love nostalagia) and pretty much anything on VH1, MTV and network television. I've been told that I watch more television than the average person so I figured I should write about it. The same goes for my excessive knowledge of pop culture trivia.
My current favorite show are Game of Thrones, Scandal, Once Upon a Time, House of Cards, Sleepy Hollow, The Blacklist, Grey's Anatomy and Master's of Sex. I am a huge Disney/Animation fanatic and love a slew of movies includding Aladdin, Beauty + the Beast, Toy Story Series, Mulan, Rescuers Down Under and much more.
