Ugh Daylight Savings Time is killing me! I wish there was a support group for sleep/nap lovers like me. Anyway I'm now fully into my Game of Thrones series which isn't as bad as I thought since it's only one family/person profile a day. Tomorrow I get to introduce the Martells, who are even more fascinating than the Tyrells (in my opinion) who are finally showing up this season so stay tuned.
I have Jury Duty this week, so I will use that to finish up my reading of "Temeraire" if I get called to come in. I'm thinking about choosing a non-fantasy book to read the next time, so I'll let you guys know which one I pick from my collection. I'm not too upset to have it, but I just had it last year (no less right after my wisdom teeth surgery) so I hope that I at least don't get called for a jury if the case is at least interesting.
My Alcohol and Other Drug Management class started up today and I'm actually interested in a class for once! Most of it will be looking at co-morbidity of substance abuse with other addictions and how to treat those, which I think is really cool (psych major problems) so I'll see how that goes.
So my costumes for the conventions are almost done I only have one thing left (the dress). Too bad that's the most expensive. I definitely want to try using my sewing machine that I got a bit ago. I figure if I can learn how to successfully sew, I can pretty much do anything (I'm not big on domestic stuff i.e: cooking/baking). I just get so anxious putting all the pieces together that most of the time I have to undue what I had done. All I know is that once I get this costume, I'll probably try to wear it to every convention or dress-up event.
Now that all of my television shows have come back, I realized I've been really picky and don't have as much stuff to watch as I usually do. So I'm going to try to watch True Detective to see what the hype is about. I'm also going to finally watch Battlestar Galactica. I feel that to be a true geek, I need to watch this entire series and understand the references, especially if I'm going to geek conventions. I'm also gonna try to finally get into watching anime so I'll probably alternate between BSG and Full Metal Alchemist:Brotherhood. I've always strayed to the surface with anime (with Sailor Moon, Digimon, Dragonball Z, Spirited Away and Pokemon) and I want to get more into it to see if I can find more stuff that I like. Plus Otakon happens every year in Baltimore and it's a pretty big con, so it would be cool to check it out and see what the culture is like.
I can't believe March is flying by so fast, but that means that PAX East is coming up! This weekend I'm going to a St. Patrick's Day pub crawl, which should be fun. I'm thinking that for all of the events I'm going to, I'll do blog posts recapping my experiences since the things I'm going to are all different.
