The music is another wonderful thing about this movie. From the opening "Arabian Nights", to "A Friend Like Me", and, of course "A Whole New World", all of it is so iconic and memorable and fun. I'm sure I know all of the worlds to all of the songs, which is probably inappropriate for a 24 year old, but I don't care because I love it that much.
Aladdin takes the story of a down-on his-luck guy and turns it into a fantastical tale that asks the question: what would you do with three wishes? I definitely have a plan (not that it will ever come to fruition). I also love that interwoven with this main storyline are ideas of freedom and independence, seen with Jasmine and Genie (and also with Aladdin to an extent). It has a wonderful message of friendship and love and closes on a great note.
Aladdin and Abu are such a great team and with the addition of Genie and Carpet, it creates great movie moments. The animations are super fluid and I feel like this movie definitely holds up against time, mainly to due the amazing comedy styles of Robin Williams.
FanGirl Rating: 5/5 Totally re-watchable, completely enjoyable. From the animation, to the music and memorable characters, this is one of those movies that truly define my childhood and that still resonates with me to this day.
